Student Work - Collaborations and Murals

Students created both relief and painted tiles based on the wildlife in the school courtyard. The unit incorporated hands-on exploration, nature drawing, research, additive and subtractive sculpting techniques, glazing, landscape painting, color theory, and awareness of the elements and principles of design. The final mural is installed in the school hallway next to windows that face the courtyard.

Students in 2nd grade created a class scarecrow of a 100 Eyed Monster to celebrate the 100th birthday of their school. Each child created individual eyeballs.

Students in grades K-2 each created their own individual block made by gluing discarded small trash onto the block. The blocks were then glued together to create one collaborative piece.
